RICHARDSON ROAD WIDENING
TSL was main contractor for this project. This contract included road widening, earthworks, kerb and channel, drainage, pavement construction, footpaths, pram crossings, services relocation, asphalt, pavement and traffic signals installation. This project is relevant – concrete works along a busy road; a real need to achieve excellent quality the first time and avoid any repeat work.
Traffic Systems Ltd contracted to Waitakere City Council to construct a 3.8km cycle/walkway. This included a 2.5m wide concrete footpath with multiple boardswalks and retaining walls. The cycleway followed a stream and care had to be talken to ensure there was no environmental damage. A short time frame for the project demanded diligent project management.
A high profile project meant the public demanded action. Consideration was required for the local iwi at various stages of the project.
ONEHUNGA CYCLE AND WALKWAY STAGE 2
As main contractor, TSL project managed traffic control, health & safety, environmental protection and construction of road widening and footpath reconstruction that included: tree removal and trimming, sediment control, excavation, street drainage, water main relocation, street lights relocation, kerb and channel, pavement construction (basecourse, chip seal, line marking), signs, footpath, pram crossings & vehicle crossings, topsoil and grass and tree planting. Work was located on a Level 2 road that took all motorway off ramp traffic. Footpath work required provision of safe temporary pedestrian travel through the worksite. Excellent traffic control resulted in no incidents or accidents.
TSL achieved a very high quality standard, had no repeat work and delivered the project on time despite a very short contract period – through providing adequate resources in a timely manner. Relevance: Demonstates TSl ability to deliver road works on time to a high quality standard with excellent QA, EH&S performance and stakeholder communications.
PIONEER ST/CATHERINE ST INTERSECTION UPGRADE
As main contractor, TSL undertook all civil construction using their own resources. EH&S plans and traffic management plans were prepared and implemented. Work included: Near Pioneer St/Catherine St Intersection: concrete speed table construction in 4 stages; drainage works, kerb & channel, dish channel, edge beam and pavement reinstatement; At Vitasovich Street: cycleway construction with associated signage and line marking. Traffic control was done by TSL using temporary traffic signals. All the works were completed on budget including approved variation and on time.
This project is relevant – same construction, management and traffic control team, similar type of works, ability to finish the project on time and on-site staff who communicate well with local stakeholders to ensure no complaints arise.
