In his 6 years at Metrowater, he demonstrated his leadership and relationship building skills, substantially improving business performance and guiding the company through the Super City restructure. He has a strong belief in working collaboratively and was heavily involved with introducing 'Alliancing' to the company's operating model. This included having responsibility for overseeing the completion of the 'Clear Harbour Alliance' capital project which was awarded the Alliance Team of Excellence Award for 2009 from the Alliance Association of Australia as well as the Best Practice Award for Community Relations and Customer Relationship Mangement from the New Zealand Planning Institute.
